Celebrating the life of

Ellen Grace Jorgenson McClure

October 18, 1996 - January 18, 2024

Ellen Grace Jorgenson McClure

Ellen Grace Jorgenson McClure, 27, of Savannah, took Jesus’ hand and stepped into glory January 18, 2024, with her husband and father at her bedside. She spent her last days surrounded by many precious friends and family in a truly anointed sacred atmosphere of prayer, praise, laughter and tears.

She was born October 18, 1996, in Melbourne, Florida, daughter of David Charles Jorgenson and Amy Grace Mangum Jorgenson of Savannah. She attended Covenant Christian School and Melbourne High School. She earned her Bachelor’s at Palm Beach Atlantic University where she was the Cross Cultural Studies Department Outstanding Graduate.

Ellen and Phillip were married in Savannah October 8, 2022. They lived life full of joy and adventure, exquisitely completing each other and enriching so many who dearly loved them.

She loved her career as an Event Planner at Kennedy Events, contributing her boundless creativity and delightful imagination to the wonderful team she was a part of. Before that she planned events at The Bowen Center in DC and interned at NPR, overseeing a Tiny Desk concert event she was very proud of.

Ellen sought opportunities to show God’s love to everyone around her, traveling to Jordan, Mexico and Australia on missions trips and completing a semester abroad in Scotland at University of Edinburgh. She spent a cherished summer as her sweet late Grandma Marguerite Mangum’s roomie in Norfolk, VA.

She was a strong, confident woman and showered her sweet wit and engaging spirit generously among everyone she knew.

Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband, Phillip Michael McClure; brother, Daniel Carl Jorgenson; brother-in-law, Jordan McClure; parents-in-law, Mike and Amy McClure; Grandmothers, Susie Henninger and husband Ken, and Barbara Jorgenson; as well as so many dearly loved uncles, aunts and precious cousins and best friends.

Ellen’s memorial service will be held Sunday, the 21st, 3:00pm at Christ Church Anglican, 2020 Bull Street, Savannah.

We remember Ellen as a lovely young lady inside and outside. I mostly remember her intelligence and courtesy demonstrated so many Sundays at Park Place United Methodist Church as she escorted her grandmother to and from church. Thank God for allowing all of us to experience such care from a young lady!
